DC Is It

DC is the place to be, right? Beautiful women, nice bars, the president lives here, etc.. but what about our basketball team. We in DC want the whole world to feel us, and the Wizards have the opportunity to make that dream a reality year in and year out by what they do on the hardwood during the NBA playoffs. Show the world how we hustle, and how we grind by how you play.

Show the world why we rep this city the way we do, show them why "DC is it."

As the Washington Wizards limped their way into the 2018 NBA Playoffs many questions were raised on the teams chemistry. After losing to the Orlando Magic on the last night of the NBA regular season, the Wizards fell to the number 8 seed and set themselves up for a series with the Toronto Raptors.

Despite the Wizards recent success against the Raptors in past playoff matchups, the Wizards confidence is pretty low. The Washington Wizards have lost their edge, their swagger, their mystique. If they don't find it soon it'll be time to pack up and get ready for the offseason.

Just a year ago the Wizards were the talk of the NBA, the way they bullied the Atlanta Hawks in a 6 game series and how tough they battled the number 1 seeded Boston Celtics in a 7 game series. There were even rumors on how the Cleveland Cavaliers tried their best not to face the Wizards in last years playoffs.

The Wizards played with grit, attitude, and so much swagger. The type of swagger that rubbed off on the city of DC in a major way as fans and natives ran with the "Death Row DC" slogan. T-shirts, hats, even the music in the arena made the Wizards look like more of a rap group than a basketball team.

This year its a lot different. Same team, much less intensity. It doesn't look like these guys even like to play with one another. The lack of ball movement when John Wall is out of the lineup, lack of defensive effort, terrible rebounding and the poor body language from Bradley Beal when shots aren't falling all factor into why the Wizards are having such a tough time.

This all can very well be fixed in Game 2 against the Raptors on Tuesday. The Wizards have their backs against the wall, and coming back to DC down 0-2 will be devastating. So who's going to step up?
